Hello, I’m Debbie the founder and professional organiser and decluttering expert behind Clean Slate.
Before launching Clean Slate in 2019, I had spent years working in different jobs and gathering life experiences, but it was during evenings and weekends, helping friends and family with organising projects, that I found what I truly loved. Seeing the difference it made when someone could finally enjoy spending time in their home again, when their space felt like theirs, was something I knew I could do for the rest of my life. So, I turned my passion into a purpose and Clean Slate was created.
When I launched Clean Slate, I knew exactly how I wanted my clients to feel: supported, respected, and empowered. My role is to walk alongside you, supporting your journey by helping make room, physically and emotionally, for your next chapter, whatever that may be.
Supporting you to make room — physically and emotionally — for your next chapter.
Over these last few years I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of clients across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and the North East of Scotland. From families preparing for a move, to older adults downsizing, to individuals navigating bereavement or living with conditions like OCD or hoarding behaviours every story is different, and every project is deeply personal.
Clean Slate is about more than creating a well organised home, it’s about creating spaces you love and supporting you to move forward, with clarity and confidence.
The values that shape how we support every client and every project.
Professionally trained and accredited, ensuring you receive informed and thoughtful support.
We have compiled some frequently asked questions we hear from clients time and time again about professional organising and decluttering and working with Clean Slate.
What is a professional organiser?
Professional organisers and declutterers provide practical assistance in organising and decluttering homes and spaces to create calm, functional spaces
What are the benefits of working with a professional organiser?
Working with a professional organiser can reduce stress, bring clarity, save time, and help you feel more in control of your space – with kind, judgement-free guidance every step of the way.
What can a professional organiser help with?
From organising paperwork to preparing for a house move, downsizing, or adjusting after a life change, a professional organiser can help make your space work better for you.
Which areas do you cover?
Clean Slate offers professional organising and decluttering services across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and the North East of Scotland – and can travel further afield for a fee.
How do I book your organising services?
You can book by filling in our contact form, sending us an email via [email protected] or giving us a call, we’ll arrange a friendly chat to understand your needs and get started.
Do I need to tidy up prior to working with an organiser?
No you do not need to tidy prior to our arrival, we would far rather see your space as you navigate it day to day so we can determine which solutions will work best for your space and your lifestyle.
Do I need to be there when you come to declutter and organise?
You can choose how involved you want to be, ultimately we will be relying on you to make decisions on your items, but it’s important that the process is comfortable for you, your available time, goals and budget.
How long can the project take?
We tailor our pace to what feels right for you, ensuring you are comfortable and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Since your pace will naturally affect how long our session takes, we check in regularly to help you find the right balance and take breaks when needed.
What happens to my items I declutter after working with Clean Slate?
We champion ourselves on sustainability and will work to ensure your decluttered and pre-loved items find a new home through our network of third sector organisations, recycling facilities and distribution services.
Do you offer organising accountability and support services?
Yes, we have options to add on accountability calls where we would host a virtual call once a month to give you tips and help you keep on top of your newly organised space.
Still have a question?
We’re always happy to talk things through.
